Springtime, tax refunds, payroll changes - and we're nominated for an award!

Welcome to the February edition of HTH Accountants’ monthly newsletter! We send this out once a month with information for our clients and friends about financial news in Ireland. Spring is now getting going, and there’s more of a will to do new things. See below for some things you should be keeping an eye on, and an award for which we’ve been nominated!

Missing out on tax refunds?

Over half a million people are missing out on tax refunds according to the Revenue. So far this year, more than 440,000 people discovered that they overpaid tax in 2024, according to published statistics. This resulted in refunds of over €400m during the month of January alone.

Payroll changes in 2025

There are changes to how payrolls work that employers should know about in 2025. These include an increase in the minimum wage, PRSI, changes, a potential increase in sick pay and the introduction of pension auto-enrolment. It’s important to keep up to date on these - we can guide you through what needs to be done.

Awards Nomination
